Asbestos Removal Tips

Asbestos removal has become an industry in and of itself. Asbestos has been used for several decades in building materials because it has been a reliable and affordable building product that offers insulation for their projects. Sometimes it was used too frequently and this lead to an overabundance which has then lead to cancer and other damaging effects to our bodies.

So why did construction workers use this dangerous product for so long? It’s quite simple actually.  It all boiled down to money and it’s tinsel strength. It is also fire resistant which works well for insulation and wire coding.  Because of all the uses of Asbestos, an industry for its removal has popped up. There are challenges of asbestos removal because of its over use.  They used it so frequently because they didn’t have any longterm studies that showed human ailment arrising from the use of it. Asbestos was first mined in Canada but due to the popularity of the fiber and it’s wide range of uses, the United States jumped on that band wagon quickly.  Asbestos is strong, fire resistant, and works as a great insulator.

Once you have discovered it in your home or business building you essentially have two options for asbestos removal.  The first is to hire a professional team to come in and detox your home from asbestos.  The second option is to do it yourself.  We definitely recommend that if you choose the latter option, you do your research on the best ways to remove this deadly fiber on your own.  In some cases you might do you and your family a huge disservice by attempting this feat on your own.  Be caution.

As a reminder, asbestos is not harmful to the body unless it has been disrupted and the fibers are airborne.  Only through inhalation can they cause you harm.  So if you are unsure, don’t touch it and call in a professional to remove the asbestos
